A minimum of five Scottish credit/general standard grades / National 4/5 or equivalent or above which must include Maths, English and Science
A minimum of one Scottish Higher in Maths, Chemistry, Biology or an associated Science

Our Montrose facility is a 45-acre primary manufacturing site, located by the sea. At this site, active pharmaceutical ingredients are manufactured which then go on to be converted into products such as tablets, creams and inhalers- used to treat a range of illnesses and diseases. Achieve your career goals on our apprentice programme

On our 3-year programme you’ll receive tailored on-the-job training from industry experts from day one combined with early responsibility to help you to develop and progress. You’ll be working towards a nationally recognised qualification studying for an HNC or HND as well as SVQ modules in life science supported by Dundee and Angus College through a blended approach of day study and block release.

If you are offered an apprenticeship; you will have a buddy or a mentor who will help you to prepare for joining GSK and will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship. Working with both your line and programme manager we want to identify the right opportunities to help you succeed in the short term and throughout your career with us.

What will you do?

You will be part of our laboratory team based at our Montrose pharmaceutical manufacturing site.

Your duties might include:

  • Learning analytical methods and operating specialist laboratory equipment to test our pharmaceutical products and raw materials
  • Carrying out data analysis, interpreting data and report writing

You’ll be excited by the thought of:

  • Studying and building your laboratory skills in a manufacturing setting
  • Working as part of a team to support the routine analysis of IPC, raw materials, manufactured and stability samples using classical and chromatographic techniques as appropriate.
  • Using your analytical skills and attention to detail to support our patients to do more, feel better, live longer.
