present The Pitch

This competition is all about finding the next brilliant young advertising professionals.

We are on a mission to break down entry barriers and offer equal opportunities for everyone interested in the world of advertising. And we believe through The Pitch we can do just that.

The Pitch is a competition for individual students or groups (2-4) to dive head first into the world of advertising. Students are invited to respond to a real media brief for JD Sports.

Students will need to devise an advertising campaign that includes researching the audience, creating a media plan to take it to market and creative examples of their campaign.

Support will be offered in downloadable packs to help guide them on their journey.

What to expect from the COMPETITION!

Students will receive a detailed written brief and background to JD Sports and will be required to produce a presentation for their response.

They will need to showcase their understanding of the brand and research on the target audience, a topline media plan detailing their chosen channel selection (e.g. Radio, Out-Of-Home posters, TikTok, TV) and finally a creative example that brings to life their idea.

After the students submit their ideas there will be a voting stage and judges selection to showcase the top 25 teams. Students will be encouraged to promote their idea for votes through friends, family, social media etc. Voting will be based on their creative example.

The chosen 25 teams will be invited to pitch their full response live at a very exciting central London office to some of the top advertising professionals  in the country.

All travel and expenses are covered.

The winning team will have their creative idea brought to life in their hometown with the potential to even be used as part of JD Sports’ advertising strategy!

As well as this the winning teams will be offered multiple work experience placements at some of the biggest advertising companies in the UK. Not to mention other exciting prizes such as vouchers which will be revealed when the brief opens on 1st March.

We are also committing to offering over 100 work experience opportunities for those who make it through to the final pitching day. These will range from paid internships to work experience placements to summer schools. We’re working with the biggest names in the industry from big social media platforms, Out-Of-Home providers, exciting brands, leading media agencies and many more.

A full list of the companies providing work experience will be shared from 1st March.

Application open on 1st March 2023
